Raintree, along with our partners—the Vann Molyvann Project and NK-A—are proud to present "Modern Architecture: Echoes & Reflections," a major exhibition explores the rich heritage and lasting impact of the New Khmer Architecture movement. The exhibition will run from 2 November to 6 December 2024, inviting the public to engage with Cambodia’s architectural history through a contemporary lens.

What sets this exhibition apart is the presentation of rare and previously unseen architectural materials in the Vann Molyvann Project and Vann Molyvann Private Collection, offering a rare glimpse into archival materials, such as architectural drawings, photographs, and concept designs, for both built and unbuilt projects like the Vann Molyvann and Lu Ban Hap Private Residences, the White Building, the Grey Building, the Archaeology Museum, and Battambang University, and more.

The exhibition introduces an interplay between architecture heritage and contemporary art, incorporating artworks, inspired by this rich modern heritage, produced by seven artists with diverse backgrounds, including Pen Sereypagna, Prak Dalin, Srun Rida, Leng Kimsreang, Hor Daro, Litara Ung and Kim Dayung, exclusively available at Raintree.

Alongside the exhibition, we’re presenting a series of community events, including architecture tours, screenings by award-winning Cambodian filmmakers, and panel discussions focused on the intersection between architecture and community. The exhibition and the accompanying community programme offer a fresh perspective and insight for industry professionals, students, and creatives alike.
