Montblanc 136 fountain pen restoration

For this video, I captured most of the steps of a restoration of a Monblanc 136 on camera. The fountain pen was produced around the end of the 1940s and is therefore a good 70 years old.The outside of the Montblanc 136 was not in as bad a condition as many other comparably old pens. The biggest problem was that there was a big hole in the knob. Apparently someone had tried to restore something there in the past (with moderate success). Also, the star was very discoloured and no longer fitted into the cap head.After disassembly, I cleaned all the individual parts, carefully sanded down the surfaces and repolished them. To fill the hole in the knob, I turned a matching piece of black hard rubber, inserted it and sanded it smooth.Of course, there was also a new sealing cork at the end, so that the fountain pen is ready to write again.Have fun watching.
