Today marks another historic milestone in the political life of Ward 9 Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally inaugurated its newly elected Ward Executives at the Party Secretariat.
The ceremony was not merely procedural; it was symbolic, a solemn covenant between leadership and the people, a reaffirmation that democracy at the grassroots must be participatory, transparent, and inclusive.
The newly elected executives, ably led by Chairman Comrade Kenneth Akudu, were all present and were formally reaffirmed by authentic and respected leaders of the ward, including Chief Spino and Comrade Egiliga Mgbakili. Their presence signified continuity, stability, and legitimacy. Also in attendance were elected LGA party executives such as Comrade Ibobo Ejime and Mr. Eminent, further strengthening the bond between ward and local government leadership structures.
The atmosphere of the inauguration reflected unity and vitality. Over 150 women, more than 50 men, and a vibrant presence of youths filled the Secretariat, underscoring the broad-based support and renewed confidence in the party’s direction. The gathering was peaceful, orderly, and filled with enthusiasm, a testament to the maturity and political consciousness of Ward 9 Abbi.
Though unavoidably absent due to engagements in Abuja, the host and consistent supporter of the ward, Hon. Valentine Oyemike, sent a warm goodwill message to the gathering. His spirit of generosity and solidarity was evident as he made refreshments available and supported the traditional kola nut presentation with a significant financial contribution, a gesture equally complemented by Chief Spino, Comrade Egiliga Mgbakili, and members of the newly inaugurated executive. The symbolic breaking of kola nut served as a reminder that leadership is a shared responsibility rooted in culture, respect, and unity.
In his inaugural address, Chairman Comrade Kenneth Akudu assured party faithful of a transparent and accountable administration. He pledged that under his watch, the affairs of the ward would be managed with integrity, consultation, and fairness. His words resonated with calm confidence, reinforcing the trust reposed in him by the people.
The Secretary, Chief Ifeanyi Kingsley Enuenwosu, popularly known as “Sen Rich Kay” and fondly called “Onu Osa,” delivered a stirring message that electrified the audience. He boldly declared that the era where empowerment opportunities are monopolized or diverted at the top is over. He assured members that benefits meant for the grassroots would henceforth reach the grassroots directly, promising a structure where inclusion replaces exclusion and fairness overrides favoritism. His commitment drew loud applause and heartfelt rejoicing from women and men alike who expressed deep trust in his personality and track record.
The charge to the new executives was clear: for the next four years, they must lead with open doors, open books, and open hearts. Leadership must not be selective but collective; not distant but accessible. The ward expects governance that listens, mobilizes, empowers, and unites.
Today’s inauguration therefore stands as more than a ceremony. It represents a renewed social contract, one built on trust, responsibility, and shared vision. Ward 9 Abbi has once again demonstrated that grassroots democracy remains the foundation upon which lasting political success is built.
With unity as its strength and inclusiveness as its guiding philosophy, APC Ward 9 Abbi moves confidently into a new chapter.
