The only real requirements for this method are Desert Treasure for access to the Ancient Spellbook and at least 92 Magic for Blood Barrage (80 Magic for Blood Blitz also works). You’ll also need either 66 Slayer for the weaker wyverns or 82 Slayer for Ancient Wyverns. The key item is the Dragon Hunter Wand, which provides a massive 75% accuracy boost and 40% bonus damage against dragons, while also allowing you to autocast Ancient spells.

For gear setup, Full Virtus is ideal thanks to its 15% boost to Ancient spells, but Bloodbark Armour is a strong budget alternative, especially for lower-level players who benefit from its increased healing effect with blood spells. Pair this with prayer potions, goading potions, and the right shield — such as an Elemental Shield, Dragonfire Shield, Dragonfire Ward, or Ancient Wyvern Shield (the best option, as it prevents freeze from icy breath).

There are four types of Fossil Island Wyverns: Spitting, Long-tailed, Taloned (all requiring 66 Slayer), and the stronger Ancient Wyverns (82 Slayer). The weaker wyverns drop loot averaging 11k per kill, while Ancient Wyverns offer much better rewards averaging 23k per kill, with improved chances at Granite Longsword, Granite Boots, and the Wyvern Visage. While melee and range are possible, AFK magic with Dragon Hunter Wand is by far the most efficient method.
