We drove our trucks to the top of the San Juan Mountains to camp inside an ancient Supervolcano. These mountains were born in fire. Once among the most violent places on Earth, these peaks are the shattered remains of ancient supervolcanoes that quite literally exploded into existence.

In this video, John and I push deep into the San Juans, driving shelf roads carved into collapsing volcanic rock, navigating closures from recent rockslides, and camping in the heart of an ancient caldera. What was once completely uninhabitable is now a place of quiet, perspective, and reflection.

This trip isn’t just about overlanding or reaching a destination. It’s about witnessing millions of years of change, finding stillness in a landscape shaped by catastrophe, and understanding why places like this keep calling us back.

And this is only the beginning.
