We joined the BLUEWATER CRUISING CLUB and explored Pender Island [Episode 50]

Why join a Cruising Club? Well first of all the comraderie is great. It is nice to hang out and meet people with the same ambitions as you have. Well that is exactly the reason we joined the Bluewater Cruising Association and attended their meet up at Port Browning Pender Island.

It was a bit awkward being one of the only powerboats and one member actually told me to my face that only sailboats are bluewater boats!!! Well is she EVER WRONG...sorry missy but Blaine and I probably have WAY MORE sea miles under our belts then you have. Unfortunately you find these people everywhere - you know the ones that don't like motorboats.

But that's OK...the rest of the people were AMAZING! and we had a great time with Tina and Brian onboard again. We were also part of an awesome lecture about the First Nations history of Pender Island and the Gulf Islands. The lecturer was skilled and his talk fascinating. The best saying I had ever heard was "When the Tide is Out the Table is Set" and that is what the First Nations People believe and live by here in the Southern Gulf Islands.
