A healthy breakfast not only provides you the required energy to stay energetic throughout the day but also kickstarts your metabolism. In addition, a healthy and filling breakfast balances your blood sugar levels, helps in weight management, improves cognitive function, and promotes your heart health. However, eating fruit on the go or a glass of juice doesn’t provide you with the necessary nutrition.

Does the Time of Breakfast Matter?
Eating a healthy breakfast is not enough. To get the maximum benefits, you need to eat a healthy, filling breakfast at the right time. In fact, the time of eating breakfast is as important as the type of food you are eating for breakfast. Eating breakfast at the right time sets the pace for a healthy appetite and also stabilizes the blood sugar levels throughout the day. When you eat late, the blood sugar levels shoot up, which triggers hunger, and cravings and leads to overeating. As soon as we are awake, our body needs to speed up and come out of the fasting so that we stay energetic throughout the day.
So, what is the Ideal Time to Eat Breakfast?
The ideal time to eat breakfast is within two hours of waking up. To boost our metabolism, it is advisable to eat breakfast by 8:00 AM. Waiting till 9 or 10 AM for breakfast is too late and will not give you the required benefits. Eating breakfast within the specified time fuels your mental and physical performance throughout the morning, which is the most productive time of the day. Eating breakfast on time also helps in curbing your late-night craving.
What if you Exercise in the Morning?
Many people hit the gym in the morning before you kickstart your day. Even if you hit the gym in the morning make sure you eat something light before exercising. For instance, you can eat oatmeal before you hit the gym. After your exercise session, your body is in healing mode as your muscles are repairing. This is the reason why you need to eat a second breakfast of veggies, or lean proteins. You can eat a light mid-morning snack such as boiled eggs or a sandwich to keep you full till lunchtime.

As breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it is necessary that you not only eat healthily but also at the right time. Eating a late breakfast will be of no use as you will not reap the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast. Whether it is kickstarting your metabolism or maintaining your blood sugar levels, eating breakfast at the right time is the key to staying healthy.
