Cottage by the Sea at Queenscliff, was founded in 1890 by the Ministering Children’s League to improve the lives of children in need by providing them with inspiration, fun and opportunity through tailored programs within a holiday environment. The children who attend are chosen by schools and welfare agencies.
Deakin University research on the medium to long-term impact on children of CBS programs has validated the life-changing impacts of these programs.
CEO, Adam Wake is passionate about providing better life opportunities for children. Prior to taking on the CEO role at Cottage by the Sea in 2019, he spent 11 years managing a not-for-profit organisation for disadvantaged, disabled or disengaged children.
He has held management roles in outdoor education around the world, holds a law degree and has training in mental health, childhood trauma and child protection.
