This series of informative videos is meant to introduce Christians to the basic facts about Jewish identity, basic Jewish history, basic facts relating to the violent persecution Jewish people have suffered at the hands of institutional Christendom, and overview of the diversity of Jewish people today. Finally we'll make recommendations for how sincere Bible believing Christians can demonstrate genuine and unconditional friendship with Jewish friends, neighbors and relatives. Ultimately we desire to be able to present the claims of Jesus of Nazareth to be the Jewish Messiah, and to do that within a context of understanding of the anti-Semitism Jewish people have experienced at the hands of some claiming to be Christians. We also desire to correct toxic attitudes and misinformation about the Jewish people sadly growing among some who claim to be Christians. In short, Anti-Semites are NOT followers of the person or teaching of Messiah Jesus, they have believed slander & lies told by the misinformed.

This Video #8 deals with the varied beliefs and tradition of the the 3 branches of Judaism, as well as the cultural differences between Jews of various regions. Videos #8, 9 and 10 are parts of that same teaching.

I am your instructor, Mottel Baleston. I was born into a typical Jewish home in Brooklyn, New York City. All four of my grandparents were born in traditional Orthodox Jewish homes in Eastern Europe at the turn-of-the-century. I came to saving faith in Messiah Jesus at the age of 21 after a spiritual search. After a short time in the dental field, I graduated from evangelical Bible college, and am very slowly (30 years) working my way through graduate school for a Masters degree in Old Testament. I have served in leadership in evangelical churches and for over 30 years served in the capacities of Messianic Rabbi and leader of several Messianic Jewish congregations and fellowships. I am, PRESENT TENSE, both happily Jewish and happily and gratefully in the family of God through faith alone in Messiah Yeshua. It's my privilege to teach alongside author & Bible scholar Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum each summer at the Ariel Ministries Messianic Discipleship Summer Intensive School.
The videos will be divided into segments of approx 15 to 20 minutes. Each one will have a teaching PowerPoint., there 12 videos in total. Feel free to post comments or questions and I will be able to answer those in the comments, however it will usually take three or four weeks until I'm able to respond. All comments are held for approval as this channel has sadly been the target of both racist anti-Semites who consider themselves to be Christians, as well as individuals attempting to promote false teaching.
