How to DIY Winterize / Store your Walk Behind Lawn Mower for the winter. How to Do It Yourself.

In order to service our customers properties Cullins Service has to maintain the equipment to do so. So we decided to show everyone how to do it yourself. Maintaining equipment is important to running a landscaping company. Knowing how to do it yourself will save you time and money.

When you are storing your equipment in this case a walk behind lawn mower, you have to store it properly. Cullins service will show you how.

What You will need

-Lawn Mower
-Motor Oil
-Grease / Grease Gun
-Drain pan
-Funnel
-Rags
-Scraper – Brush – Hose – Air Compressor
-Socket Wrench w/ Sockets and Torx Bit Socket
-Oil Filter Wrench
-Jack Stands
-Two (2) 15/16” box end wrenches
-Air Filter
-Oil Filter
-Fuel Filter
-Spark Plugs
-Fuel Stabilizer
-Fresh Gas (No more than 1-2 weeks old)
-Wrench

Not all Lawn Mowers are the same. This is for the 36 in. 22 HP Subaru EH65V Commercial Duty Dual Hydro Walk-Behind Finish-Cut Turf Mower with Floating Deck. Having said that you can pretty much apply this DIY Winterize / Store for Winter project to any Lawn Mower.

Move the Lawn mower to a flat surface.
Remove Gas
Run Engine
Safety First
Remove Key
Shut Off Fuel
Remove Spark Plug Boots
Clean Lawn Mower
Check Bolts and Damaged Parts
Change Oil
Remove Oil Cap
Remove Oil Drain Plug
Drain Oil into Drain pan
Reinstall Oil Drain Plug
Remove Oil Filter
Oil Filter Seal
Install Oil Filter
Fill Oil
Put Oil Cap Back On
Start Mower
Check Oil Level
Check Lawn Mower Blades and Clean Deck
Lift the Deck
Remove Lawn Mower Blade
Inspect Lawn Mower Blade
Sharpen Lawn Mower Blade
Clean Deck
Lubricate Blade Bolt
Reinstall Lawn Mower Blade
Lubricate / Grease
Spark Plug
Air Filter
Remove Air Filter Housing
Remove Air Filter Foam Cover
Remove Air Filter
Clean Carburetor Port
Inspect Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Check Belts and Pulleys
Remove Deck Cover
Inspect Belts and Pulleys
Check the Linkage
Fuel Stabilizer
Add Stabilizer
Run Lawn Mower
Remove Battery
Close Fuel Valve
