Today we learn how Thor decides that summer is a good time to make a journey to Utgard to flex his muscles against the giants with Loki as his companion in part one of ‘Thor’s Journey to Utgard. ‘

Thor said summer was the open season, and he announced his plan of making a journey east into Utgard and flexing himself against the giants. Loki told Thor that he would need sharp wits and suggested that he take him along. Thor agreed, and off they proceeded to Utgard. When it got late in the day, and they were tired and hungry, they found a secluded house, and Loki asked for food and shelter. The family was terrified to disappoint the Gods and offered what they had, and since there was no meat, Thor slaughtered his goats and put them in the pot. There was one small thing, and that was that all the bones had to be placed on the goat skins when they were finished, or there would be consequences. What kind of consequences would come from disobeying Thor? Listen in to hear more of the story.
