What is WAT:
Word Association Test at ISSB, also known as ISSB WAT is part of #psychologicaltests conducted usually on day-2. Word Association Test (WAT) is a Projection technique, used by #issbpsychologists for undertaking #personalitytest and learn about traits of an individual. Its used in many of the contemporary armies to test personality traits of candidates to determine suitability for armed forces. The nature, scope and application of the Word Association Test, as employed in the I.S.S.B. helps #psychologist to determine all the required personality of the candidate including fertility of his mind and depth of thinking, vocabulary, communication skills, approach towards problems, ability to bear stress and social viability. A set mind of remaining positive may create artificiality and distortions. WAT is extremely useful’ to discover emotional feeling tones, attitudes and problem areas on the part of the individuals being evaluated. To sum up, the World. Association Test provides a clue to the dynamic content of the individual’s personality structure.

How Word Association Test is Conducted at ISSB:
In WAT. a word written to printed on a cardboard is kept exposed to the #isscandidates view for 10 seconds, flashed on the screen. The candidate is expected to write a sentence related to that word and then next word is displayed (after 10 seconds). A total of 100 words are displayed one after the other.
Due to large number of words being displayed one after the other, its important that you practice these in real time as per test environment.
