Drawing Newman Projections and Comparing Conformer Stability || Organic Chemistry

Описание к видео Drawing Newman Projections and Comparing Conformer Stability || Organic Chemistry

This video explains how to draw Newman projections, as well as identifying the most and the least stable conformer. Staggered vs eclipsed Newman conformations as well as anti (180 degrees) vs Gauche (60 degrees) interactions are discussed. An eclipsed Newman represents torsional strain while a Gauche Newman is said to have steric strain. The interactions of the electron clouds on these Newmans dictate the stability and help us decide which is the most and least stable.
