Blackwings vs Kristyasworn | ♦ Lambert's Yu-Gi-Oh Edison Tournament ♦ 4K

On October 26th 2024, I held my first ever Yu-Gi-Oh Edison tournament at my work place (A mechanic shop of all places) after hours and it was an amazing success!

Situated on the west coast of Canada, the community of Vancouver, BC Yu-Gi-Oh retro format players is relatively small, but a turn out of 17 players was already above what I expected for my debut tournament. I only expect more to come out as I get the message out about a new retro tournament coming up in the area.

Featuring the first real prizing that I could find in our area, it brought out some great local players and I could not ask for a more eventful finals match that had some of the craziest sacking I've ever seen back to back from both players.

The finals match was between Kelvin L. and his OG Blackwings decklist from the actual 2010 Edison era, against Andrew Z. and his relatively modern list of Kristyasworn. Both players got their fair share of dropping bomb cards onto the field but at the end of the day, Blackwings took the lead to win the 1st place prizing of: Archlord Kristya Secret SOVR and of course he had to win the raffle of the Avenging Knight Parsath Secret LODT as well.

I'm hoping to bring an Edison tournament every month moving forward and hope to see something as eventful as this and more moving forward.

After the event ended at midnight, I poured at least 40 hours over the span of a week into editing this debut Edison tournament video. I knew I had to go all out on the video as there are hundreds if not even more IRL tournament games on Youtube but I never saw any real editing/production value so I thought I would give it a shot. I'm no Yugi-tuber but that doesn't mean I can't try make it fun and interesting, especially for the casual Yu-Gi-Oh viewers who doesn't know know or watch Edison retro format, or perhaps even watch Yu-Gi-Oh content.

The end of the video features a photo dump of all the photos I took of the event and I'm already looking into more ideas on making the tourney more unique and more importantly, epic.
