ℹ️ About the Episode:
In this episode, we stay overnight at a Harvest Hosts—a church at Port Ludlow—before taking the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds. The ferry was $122 with our truck and trailer (55 feet long combined) and saved us from having to drive Interstate 5 through Seattle. Plus, taking ferries on an RV trip is fun! We've done several, and this episode contains some bonus footage of those trips. Then we make our way to North Cascades National Park. We would have loved to stay at Newhalem Campground, which by the way has full bars LTE cell service (at least with Verizon)—but after nearly a month of dry camping since Red Fish, Idaho, we really needed to catch up on laundry and treat ourselves to a long hot shower! It rained while we were in the North Cascades, which prevented us from hiking. That was a bummer, because hiking might just be the single reason people go there, besides the scenic drive on Highway 20. We didn't do nearly as much as we would have liked, but we did have a great time. Sometimes, it's important to remember that having a great time together is better than doing as much as possible. And doing as much as possible might take away from having a great time!
