Описание к видео Taekwondo Belt Tying | Tips to tie it fast!

How to tie the Taekwondo Belt. With a few tips to tie it fast and consistent.

While there are varying methods to tying the belt in Taekwondo and Karate, nearly all are performed using a square knot with an emphasis on the ends hanging equally. This specific method is used in many martial art organizations and is taught throughout those schools.

Keep in mind, stripes are unique for each school with variances as to color and location on belt.
As always, check with your instructor if you have questions.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Wrap belt around your waist twice.
2. Tie ends into square knot.
You're done!

(tl;dr version)

1. Start with the belt in front of you in both hands, about should width apart, and the ends hanging roughly equal on each side
2. Place the middle of the belt at your waist and begin wrapping the ends around behind you
3. As your hands meet in the back, your LEFT hand will grasp the side coming from the right AND the layer on the left of your waist
4. Using your RIGHT hand, grasp the belt from your LEFT hand and wrap that on TOP of the layer that's on your RIGHT side of your waist
5. Using your LEFT hand, with a finger between the layers, feed the side that came from the RIGHT underneath the layer that's on your LEFT
6. Finish layering the LEFT and RIGHT side, bringing the ends close to each other in front of you

IMPORTANT: maintain your hold on BOTH layers in your LEFT hand, pull both layers out away from you suing your LEFT hand. This will keep belt tension all along your waist and create the necessary gap for the next step

7. Cross the belt end, that's in your RIGHT hand, OVER your LEFT hand while still holding the two belt layers in your LEFT hand
8. Fold the belt end, that came from the RIGHT now laying over the LEFT, and tuck it under and into the gap, formed by the previous step, using your fingers of your RIGHT hand
9. Using your LEFT hand, grasp the belt end and pull it to the left, while pulling the other end with your RIGHT hand.
10. Using your LEFT hand, cross the belt end back over the end that's in your RIGHT hand
11. Reach through the hole, formed by the previous step, with your RIGHT hand and pull the belt end up and through to the right
12. Bring the ends close enough to create enough slack for the next step
13. Holding the ends with both hands, tighten the knot by jerking the ends SIDEWAYS but INLINE with the belt knot

You should now have a properly tied belt!

BONUS POINTS: Practice these steps until you can tie your belt with your EYES CLOSED
