In this tutorial I discuss the pros and cons of marketing with Facebook business pages and Facebook fan pages.

The business pages are pretty different from fan pages. I myself maintain a business page, but not a fan page. Fan pages are more for celebrities, singers, politicians, or other well known people. Unfortunately, I am not that well known just yet.

As you can see, I don't have a huge following, but at the time of writing this, I have nearly 600 real people who liked my company's business page. This isn't very much, and it doesn't even make a dent in my company's revenue. Additionally, Facebook doesn't show my updates to most of the people who liked the business page. Only a handful of people get to see my updates.

What makes my Facebook page an effective promotional tool for my company is that I promote my YouTube videos on it. YouTube videos get a small boost on YouTube from any extra views or any extra social sharing. And my Facebook business page is another place where I share my content in addition to Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, and other social media networks.
