“I had to cry so much and I just let myself completely feel all that”

In the interview for Münchner Merkur with Michael Schleicher, Johanna Keimeyer talks about her project THE FACE WITHIN, questions of identity and what drives her work.

Keimeyer’s video installation and performance, THE FACE WITHIN, aims to make the inner world visible. This project features Keimeyer live, on stage, in an interview with herself while cameras record and project parts of her face. In the interview Keimeyer questions herself: “Where do my thoughts come from? What is the origin of my being? Who is looking through my eyes?“ Projecting her own body with clustered video screens, she creates a visualization of feelings, perceptions and their limits.
