Stay online with a powerbank UPS

Описание к видео Stay online with a powerbank UPS

Is it possible to use a USB power bank as a UPS for your router, modem and other 12v equipment?

During a power outage, your phone line continues to work because your provider maintains a battery backup. You can continue to surf if you have a way of powering your modem/router.

I tested several wifi routers, modems and a networking switch and all of them operated perfectly fine with a 5v input from a USB battery bank.

During a power outage, you can manually swap from the AC power supply to your USB powerbank supply or you can buy a powerbank which supports pass through charging and leave it permantly attached to an AC USB charger.

With a power bank that supports pass through power, the powerbank will be charged at the same time as outputting power for your modem. When the power goes out, the modem will operate purely from the powerbank and when the AC comes back, the powerbank will begin charging again. All of this works with no interupttion to your internet connection.

It's important to pay attention to the polarity of the connector. All of my devices have a positive center pin. But you may come across a device that has swapped them around.
