It’s My Turn GPS training is a self determination curriculum for students with disabilities in middle school through high school. This training was designed for students who struggle in the learning process, possibly needing extra time to learn skills to assist them in deciding upon and reaching their goals for life after high school.

It's My Turn is developed by the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD) through funding from the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission now known as Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) and currently supported by the Ohio Department of Education, Office for Exceptional Children, and the Federally Funded Parent Training and Information (PTI) Center grant. The workshops include four sections:
A. Vision - Hopes and Dreams, Self-advocacy, Problem Solving
B. Transition Plan - IDEA, IEP, 504, ADA
C. Building Skills - Postsecondary Education and Training, Employment, Independent Living
D. Future Planning - Personal Goal Setting, Backward Planning,

Presenter: Ms Sandy Brickner Brickner, Statewide Preschool Program Coordinator/Specialist/Trainer.
Sandy started her career serving students as an early childhood educator providing direct instruction for students with a variety of needs. Having a deep commitment and passion to support students, she continued on in a new capacity to serve students with disabilities and their families as a parent mentor for the Seneca/Wyandot County Parent Mentor Project. In 2000, Sandy began working for OCECD as an information specialist, supporting families in North Central Ohio and providing training throughout Ohio. Currently, Sandy is part of the Parent Mentor Oversight and Professional Development Project as a Statewide Preschool Parent Mentor.
