QUICK Mud Motor Throttle Adjustment

Just doing a quick once over on how I adjusted my mud motor throttle lever on my 13hp predator engine. This is the Duckbill throttle lever by Swamp Runner. #duckbillthrottlelever

When I first installed this lever, I had it adjusted so that when the engine was at idle, the throttle lever was fully open, as wide as it could go. BUT when I squeezed the lever to go to wide-open throttle (WOT) the lever had so much throw that it would not close all the way (the lever wouldn't touch the grip). The engine did not have as much travel as this throttle lever did. So the problem I ran into is that I kept squeezing when I was riding and I eventually pulled the cable out of the engine.
So now, I adjust the throttle lever the opposite way. I set the throttle lever flush with the handle by tieing it to the grip (simulating wide open throttle) and then went to the engine side and set it at wide-open throttle and then tightened everything down. Now I won't be able to pull the throttle cable out of the engine. Side note; when I am at idle, the lever does not fully go all the way open which doesn't bother me and isn't an issue, but I thought I would mention it.
So this throttle is the best one I've seen yet on the internet for the longest cable pull and travel so those who have a Mikuni carb and need a lot of cable pull, this would be a throttle lever to take a look at.
