SHOPPING CENTER: FOREST - SOUTH..

we decided on the "SHOPPING CENTER" title as a playful jab at how many people spend their free time in MALLS, no matter the season or weather, instead of enjoying the OUTDOORS and NATURE..🤪..

in between more adrenaline-filled activities, we love taking a stroll through the forest to see what treasures might be hiding..no season is ever the same, and most of the time, you have to walk for miles and miles to find anything..often, we don’t find anything interesting to us at all, which makes every discovery even more enjoyable and satisfying - it’s like a treasure hunt for us..

🔴 when it comes to MUSHROOMS, this fall turned out to be an amazing season, although it started off quite underwhelming:
we’d go into the forest, walk for miles, and find absolutely nothing - not a single mushroom of any kind..not even an old, dried-up one left over from the previous season or one that might have grown while we were away..
when we say there were no mushrooms, we don’t just mean PORCINI or other edible varieties..
there was nothing - absolutely nothing: no poisonous ones, no edible ones we care about, not even edible ones we don’t care about..
NOTHING AT ALL - the forest was completely empty - not even a trace of any mushrooms!!!...

and then, all of a sudden, it was like the floodgates opened - everything came to life!
there was so much to find, from various types of regular PORCINI (let’s not get into the subtypes..😉..), to king BOLETES, CAESAR’s mushrooms, and even the ever-present BLACK TRUMPETS..tese BLACK TRUMPETS usually start appearing when it gets a bit colder, and they can even be found during the first frosts or under early snow..

whatever the case, a walk in the forest is always refreshing - it’s great for the mind, body, and, of course, for spending time with family and friends..

🔴 WARNING!!!
if you don’t know your MUSHROOMS, don’t pick them or even touch them on your own..always go into the forest with someone knowledgeable, as MUSHROOMS, no matter how beautiful and tempting they may look, can be very dangerous if you don’t know what you’re collecting..

of course, that shouldn’t stop you from taking a walk in the forest and enjoying nature - it’s definitely healthier and more rewarding than a trip to the SHOPPING MALL..

and, of course, don’t forget: .s.m.u.k..😉..

under the right conditions, they can sprout and reach full size in just a few days!..it’s like nature’s version of instant gratification - but for mushroom hunters..keep your eyes peeled, because that perfect PORCINI might not be there tomorrow!..

▶️ MUSHROOMS are more closely related to humans than to plants!..unlike plants, they don't perform PHOTOSYNTHESIS..instead, they "EAT" by breaking down ORGANIC matter, making them nature’s ultimate recyclers.. who knew fungi had so much in common with us?..🥳..
