The First Pope? Was Saint Peter Really the First Bishop of Rome?

Описание к видео The First Pope? Was Saint Peter Really the First Bishop of Rome?

According to the oral tradition of Catholicism, the Apostle Peter was the founder and first bishop of the Roman church, presiding as its bishop for 25 years, until his martyrdom under Emperor Nero in A.D. 67. This tradition is the very source of the Catholic Church’s claims to religious authority. However, the Bible itself doesn’t say a word about this, nor does the Bible tell us anything substantial about the latter part of Peter’s apostolic ministry or how his life came to an end. So, is there any evidence whatsoever for the Catholic tradition? Should we even believe that the Apostle Peter ever set foot in Rome?
