Technology and Terrorism | D. Sivanandhan | TEDxCRCE

Though the advancement of technology and the advent of Internet have changed the face of terrorism, terrorist use many other methods to plan these heinous attacks. Hear from the top cop , Mr. D. Sivanandhan on how technology aids terror and how the same technology can be used as an antedote.

D. Sivanandhan is one of India's most well-known and highly regarded IPS officers. He is considered as the brains behind many encounters and has proved his mettle via innumerous heroic acts. He was the Police Commissioner of Mumbai; post the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. As an active member of the special task force in the National Security Council Secretariat, he helped in restructuring India's internal and external national security provisions. During his tenure he was involved in crushing a major part of the underworld and helped establishing training centers, schools, canteens, gymnasiums and officers’ club- all with state of the art infrastructure. He was also responsible for providing the youth of the city an online portal for better communication. Previously, he worked for 6 years in the Intelligence Bureau from 1987-1993 and has also served 3 years as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune.
