Over 200 years ago there was a Mohawk Native American Indigenous guide in, what is now known as, the Town of Lake Pleasant located in the Adirondack Mountains. His name was called Captain Gill and he would help the first settlers of the region and tell ancient tales of his ancestors. One story he would tell is the Legend of the Flying Head. He said it was given birth at a lake that the early settlers called Round Lake but is now known as Sacandaga Lake. Not the Great Lake Sacandaga Reservoir located in the Town of Northville! This video is a modern interpretation of Capt. Gill’s version of the legend that was saved and recorded over the years.
