In this oral history, we talked to Sheriff Larry Sims before he retires at the end of 2024. Sims came to Warren County in 2000 from Muskingum County Ohio where he was Deputy Sheriff for 22 years. He started in Warren County as a Child Abuse Investigator where he worked between the Sheriff’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office, and Children Services. Sims would step up the ranks from Captain, Chief Deputy, and to Sheriff. If you are interested in the difference in the Sheriff’s Office from 1978 - 2024 or if you are interested in some of the challenges of being in law enforcement this would be an interview to check out.
