TPG Telecom is harnessing the power of innovation to fast-track the roll-out of our 5G network across the country.

On a never-before scale, antennas, radio equipment and cabling are now being pre-assembled onto prefabricated steel frames and subjected to rigorous testing in high tech radio chambers before being delivered to mobile tower sites where they are hoisted into place as a single assembly by crane lifts.

In what is a break from the industry norm, we’re now able to improve the customer experience by halving outage times during the 5G upgrade of our towers and creating an enhanced network experience with greater levels of radio frequency testing than can be conducted in the field.

We’re rolling out 400 sites across the country in coming months using this new process that reduces the time our riggers need to work at heights, while exposed to the elements by 70%.

During the latest lockdown arrangements and beyond, Australians are relying on great connectivity and speeds to work from home. We’re proud to be partnering with Vecta Labs in Seven Hills and steel fabricators Site Pro1 in Port Kembla, helping safeguard local jobs.
