Whether you're painting miniatures for historical games or want to see some alternatives on the table - or simply to represent yourself - there's going to come a point when you'll want to dip outside the usual palette of beige skin tones and do something different. There's a couple of alternative methods of painting caucasian skin presented in this video along with a trio of different looks I think are pretty cool!

Thanks go out to Samuel for sending along the Idrian Flesh and Ebony Flesh, both have proved a massive help. The Idrian Flesh in particular has been going on my 28th Maori Battalion a treat!

How I Paint Things is a series of simple instructional videos designed to help the newcomer through some of the basics and demonstrate how the very simplest techniques can still give you some great results that're easily replicated. PAINTS USED:

HEAD 1: Tanned Flesh, Strong Tone, Barbarian Flesh, Corpse Pale (all Army Painter).
HEAD 2: Red Beige, Basic Skin Tone, Flesh Wash, Basic Skin Tone (all Vallejo). You may want to skip the first layer of Basic Skin Tone.
HEAD 3: Idrian Flesh (P3), Agrax Earthshade (Citadel), South American Flesh Light (Foundry).
HEAD 4: Ebony Flesh (Master Bones), North African Flesh Shade (Foundry), Druchii Violet (Citadel).
HEAD 5: Kislev Flesh, Agrax Earthshade, Flayed One Flesh (all Citadel).
