The US Department of Justice has begun unredacting additional names from the Epstein files, following mounting bipartisan pressure from lawmakers and public outrage over heavy redactions in millions of released documents.

A senior DOJ official confirmed the move after Reps. Ro Khanna (D-California) and Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) publicly criticized the administration for withholding names. After reviewing unredacted files with other members of Congress, the lawmakers said they identified at least six individuals who they described as “likely incriminated.”

Khanna and Massie are co-sponsors of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, legislation that requires the DOJ to release all Epstein-related records in its possession. The latest development marks a major turning point in the long-running effort to uncover who was connected to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
