Hello friends, the main subject of this video is the history of Durga Puja in Bengal . In autumn, Durga Puja is usually performed in three places in Bengal. The first is the house, the second is the worship of the baroari and the third is the worship of the monastery of temple.
The first Durga Puja in Bengal is believed to have been stared by the family Durga Puja of Dinajpur and Malda zamindars around 1500 A.D. Then is 1580 A.D. Kangsanarayan the Zamindar of Tahirpur, in 1610 AD Sarban Roychowdhury, the Zamindar of Barisha, in 1757 AD Raja Navakrishna Dev Sovabazar in Kolkata and Rani Ramani started Durgapuja in Kolkata. But in general it can be said that in 1610 AD the Durga puja of Sarban Roychudhury was the first Durgapuja in Kolkata. Another ancient banedi Durgapuja in Bengal is the puja of Samantaraja Gopinath Matta Gajasing of Chilkigarh in Jhargram.
In Bengal , between 1961 – 90 AD 12 friends from Guptipara in Hughli started the first baroari Durga Puja . At present there are innumerable public Durgapuja in Bengal. In 1901 AD Swami Vivekananda started Durga Puja at Belurmath. Durgapuja has been going on in Belurmath for 120 years since then. UNESCO has been awarded the World Heritage Site on 15th December, 2021 emphasizing the antiquity, style and tradition of Bengal Durga puja.
