This evening's late MALCOLM path out of Daventry DIRFT didn't initially appear to be departing, recently, the service has been out of DIRFT five to ten minutes early out of the yard, but this evening there appeared to be no movement, more than hour after it should have left, having discussed with a fellow Crewe Railcam rail enthusiast, it appeared that the service WAS running and had been held at the red signal out onto the WCML spur - so why the delay, well, the fact that the service ran late and as seen here Backbone (90039) passing through Stafford without its most recent partner in crime, 90029 (Bumblebee2) not as part of the trainset, as previously seen at Stafford on 4M25 last week:

   • 4M25 - DB90s - 90039 and 90029 a few minut...  

The result of this will probably see a fresh DB Cargo Class 90 pairing dispatched from Crewe IEMD to Daventry DIRFT tomorrow, a number of DB90s should now be fit and likely to be paired up, it could even be the MALCOLM liveried pairing of 90021, seen below with Bill McAlpine out on test:

and 90024, seen below, solo on 4M25

   • 4M25 - DB90's - RARE - Malcolm on his own ...  

which would be a sight for sure, having yet to operate as a pair since both locos were MALCOLM liveried.
