CBS12 News’ next "Teacher Feature" from the School District of Indian River County draws on her background in elementary education and expertise in robotics to design hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity, strengthen problem-solving skills, and build confidence with technology.

Amy D’albora is the media specialist at Oslo Middle School in Vero Beach. She has been a teacher for 16 years, but this is her first year at Oslo Middle.

D’albora has transformed the media center into a dynamic learning hub where literacy, technology, and collaboration come together, creating memorable experiences.

"I have critical thinking. I was given two periods of that this year, and I was like, this would be a great opportunity to bring robotics into the middle school, because that's kind of a beginning stage right now,” said D’albora. “So, in my critical thinking class, we take science and innovate it. So I, for example, we did energy transformation last week. So they will plan how they want to present their robot, they design their robot, and then they code their robot and make it simulate that industry transformation, and then they have to present it as well. So they put all into a presentation. So that's just one example of how we incorporate what they're learning in the classroom and then bring it in here and kind of bring it to life."
