Embark on an emotional journey with me as I return home after five years, traveling from Baltimore, USA to Nairobi, Kenya. This travel vlog captures the essence of a long-awaited homecoming, showcasing the unique blend of two worlds. Join me as I rediscover the beauty of Nairobi, explore its cultural richness, and experience the joy of reuniting with loved ones.

The journey begins at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, where I board my flight to Nairobi. As the plane takes off, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. It’s been five long years since I last set foot in Kenya, and I can’t wait to see how much has changed.

After a long flight and a layover in Amsterdam, I finally land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Stepping off the plane, I’m greeted by the warm African sun and the familiar sights and sounds of Nairobi. The hustle and bustle of the airport are a stark contrast to the quiet efficiency of Baltimore’s airport, and I can’t help but smile at the chaos.

As I make my way through the airport, I’m greeted by my family and friends, who have come to welcome me home. The hugs and tears of joy are overwhelming, and I’m filled with a sense of gratitude for being able to make this journey.

The next few days are a whirlwind of activity as I reconnect with my loved ones and explore Nairobi. We visit the Nairobi National Park, where we spot lions, giraffes, and other wildlife against the backdrop of the city skyline. We also explore the Maasai Market, where I pick up souvenirs and gifts for my friends back in the US.

One of the highlights of my trip is a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where I get to meet and interact with orphaned elephants. Watching these gentle giants up close is an experience I’ll never forget, and it reminds me of the beauty and fragility of the natural world.

Another memorable experience is a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the author of “Out of Africa.” Walking through the rooms where Blixen lived and worked, I feel a connection to the land and its history, and I’m inspired by her courage and resilience.

As my time in Nairobi comes to an end, I’m filled with a sense of gratitude for the experience and the opportunity to reconnect with my roots. The journey back to Baltimore is bittersweet, but I know that I’ll carry the memories of this trip with me forever.
