I recently finished the Petra Collins Masterclass on Film Photography. While it focuses on photography, a lot of the topics discussed can apply to all forms of art. The class really reminded me why I create, to express myself or find something that I didn't know was there.

Sometimes I get too in my head thinking about what other people will think and loose focus on the process. If I am not happy during the process of creating art, what is the point? I am not getting paid to create so why would I force myself to create something I don't love? To please other people, that's why.

I think the purpose of art is to bring some kind of relief to the creator. Art wasn't doing that for me for a while because I was focusing on what others thought of my work, and completely missed the experience of it helping me through stuff like it has in the past.

This is a short, doodle film I put together. It's not perfect and it's not meant to be. It's meant to explore something, it's meant to get a feeling out there and help make sense of it.

For this video I overlayed my doodles onto nature footage I took while the leaves were changing color this autumn.
