I Was Impressed - Hiking Little Yosemite - Sunol, CA (Hidden Gem Series)

Alameda Creek Overlook, also known as Little Yosemite, is a popular hike in the San Francisco Bay Area. I believe Little Yosemite gets its name because of the large boulders, the creek running through it, and the steep hillside surrounding it, which is similar to what you will experience in Yosemite, but on a much smaller scale.

Little Yosemite is located in the Sunol Ohlone Wilderness Regional Preserve. It is a pretty mild 1 mile out and back along a fire road if you are only visiting Little Yosemite. In this video, I hiked a 3-mile loop that visited Little Yosemite, then went up to the ridge to see it from above, and then back down to the parking lot.

I would definitely recommend doing this hike as there are very few hikes in the Bay Area that offer this type of experience. Pictures and videos do not do this area justice.
