In US news and current events today, Cuban doctors and other heath care workers are providing medical assistance to help fight the coronavirus COVID-19 in Italy. Upon their arriving, the health care professionals were greeted by Italians with roaring applause.

Cuba sent 36 doctors, 15 nurses, and a logistics expert to Italy in hopes that they can assist in Italy's hard-hit Lombardy region. Cuba often sends medical teams to help with health crises around the world but this is reportedly the first time they've sent a team to help assist a country as wealthy as Italy.
