Diet-induced obesity is a global problem leading to metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Two-thirds of the affected people are in the developing world, which is not targeted by current anti-obesity drugs, thus leaving a huge unmet need.
