P2Y2 Receptor Antagonism to Combat Global Obesity and Non-Communicable Diseases

Описание к видео P2Y2 Receptor Antagonism to Combat Global Obesity and Non-Communicable Diseases

Diet-induced obesity is a global problem leading to metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Two-thirds of the affected people are in the developing world, which is not targeted by current anti-obesity drugs, thus leaving a huge unmet need. Based on patented technology, ePurines aims to develop orally effective small molecule P2Y2 receptor antagonists as potential drugs to prevent and/or treat diet-induced obesity, as well NCDs at an affordable price.
