About Sri Rudhram:
Namakam is so named because it consists of numerous repetitions of the word "Namaha," which means "salutations" in Sanskrit. It is a collection of names and attributes of Lord Shiva, and it is believed that reciting Namakam with devotion can bestow blessings and fulfill desires.

Chamakam, on the other hand, lists various desires and requests for blessings. It is called so because each verse ends with the word "Cha," which means "and." It is believed that reciting Chamakam with devotion can help one attain spiritual and material fulfillment.

Together, Namakam and Chamakam form the Rudhram, which is chanted during many auspicious occasions, including weddings and other religious ceremonies. The powerful vibrations produced by chanting Rudhram are said to purify the surroundings and calm the mind.
