Transferring video clips from your PS4 to a USB drive for use on your phone or PC is a straightforward process. The PS4 records in a common MP4 format, making it generally compatible with most devices after transfer.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Prepare Your USB Drive
Before you start, make sure your USB drive is formatted correctly for the PS4.

Supported File Systems: Your USB drive should be formatted as either FAT32 or exFAT.

exFAT is highly recommended because FAT32 has a 4GB file size limit, which can prevent you from copying longer video clips.

Capacity: Ensure your USB drive has enough free space for the video clips you want to transfer.

How to Format (on PC):
Plug your USB drive into your computer.
Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
Right-click on your USB drive and select "Format."

Under "File system," choose "exFAT" (or FAT32 if exFAT isn't available).

Check "Quick Format" and click "Start." Confirm any warnings.

How to Format (on PS4): You can also format the drive directly on your PS4 to exFAT if needed.

Plug the USB drive into your PS4.
Go to Settings Devices USB Storage Devices.
Select your USB drive.
Choose "Format as exFAT".

WARNING: This will erase all data on the drive.

2. Copy Video Clips from PS4 to USB Drive
Insert the formatted USB drive into any of the USB ports on the front of your PS4 console.

From the PS4's home screen, navigate to "Capture Gallery." You can find it in your Library under Applications, or sometimes directly on your home screen.

Inside the Capture Gallery, you'll see folders organized by game or application. Select the folder containing the video clips you want to transfer.

Highlight the video clip(s) you wish to copy.

To select multiple clips, press the OPTIONS button on your controller after highlighting the first clip, then select "Copy to USB Storage Device." You'll then be able to check multiple boxes.

Press the OPTIONS button on your controller.
From the side menu that appears, select "Copy to USB Storage Device."
Select the specific video clips you want to copy by checking their boxes.
Select "Copy" on the bottom right of the screen.
Confirm the copy action by selecting "OK" when prompted.

The PS4 will begin transferring the selected files. A notification will appear on the screen when the transfer is complete.

Safely remove the USB drive. Once the "Copying complete" notification appears, you can safely unplug the USB drive from your PS4. There's no specific "eject" option.

Note: The PS4 creates a specific folder structure on your USB drive: PS4 SHARE Video Clips [Game Title]. Your video files will be inside these folders, typically in .mp4 format.
