Описание к видео Part 1/2: Dementia and diabetes. What is dementia?

“Does diabetes affect the brain”? "How can we improve care for people living with diabetes and dementia?" "How do we reduce the risks of complications?" These and many other questions will be at the heart of this new episode of Diabetes Health Matters with Dr Joan St John.

Because knowledge and good practice can save lives, Dr Joan St John is inviting Prof. Sam Seidu, General Practitioner and Head of Research for Primary Care Diabetes Europe (PCDE) to explore the latest science of diabetes and dementia.

Evidence has emerged linking obesity to poorer cognitive performance and highlighting the interplay between dementia and diabetes, which is sometimes termed ‘ Type 3 ‘ diabetes. The pair will offer practical advice to help people living with diabetes and dementia and those who care for them. There will also be time to address questions from the live audience.
