Day 87 carried me from Gourock Railway Station to the shores of Lunderston Bay — a run that blended Scotland’s history with breathtaking coastal scenery.

I began at the railway station, pausing to reflect on its wartime role and the ships that once filled these waters. From there, the journey led past Gourock’s famous outdoor swimming pool, a rainbow over the promenade, and the Dunoon ferry port — close to where we once watched dolphins right outside our window.

The route climbed by Cloch Caravan Park with sweeping views, before reaching the historic Cloch Lighthouse, a landmark built with purpose and pride. After a quick pass by Caldwell Garden Centre, the adventure ended with a refreshing swim in the Firth of Clyde.

Back on Day 44, I asked: “Is this Scotland’s most beautiful coastal run?” — today’s question is: have I found one to rival it?
