About the Speaker:

Dr. Shoji Tsuji is a Professor of Neurology and Director of the Medical Genome Center at the University of Tokyo Hospital. He received his MD and PhD from The University of Tokyo, followed by his residency in Neurology at Jichi Medical School. Dr. Tsuji served as Professor of Neurology and Director of the Brain Research Institute at Niigata University, and then moved to the University of Tokyo in 2002. For over 30 years, he has been a leader in Neurogenetics and has made several important scientific. This includes research breakthroughs on Dentatorubral-Pallidoluysian Atrophy (DRPLA), Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease (NIID), Parkinson’s Disease, and multiple system atrophy (MSA).

About the Series:

NAF is producing a series of monthly educational webinars that focus on one type of Ataxia at a time. Each month we will feature a different type. Clinical experts will join us to take a look at the causes and symptoms of the disease, the typical diagnostic journey for those affected, and what to expect for clinical care. Research experts will teach us how the disease is studied and give an overview of the current state of research and drug development.
