Why is Nick Spencer's Spider-Man so... meh?

Written by Nick Spencer and illustrated by a plethora of artists, the first issue of this Spider-Man run was published by Marvel Comics in July of 2018. And life is never straightforward for Peter Parker. You’d think he’d be used to it, but just when he starts to find balance with his crime fighting, love life, and everything else he has to juggle, he’s thrown into the middle of controversy and scandal. But with a mysterious foe known only as the Kindred lurking in the shadows, what waits for the wallcrawler? And does he have what it takes to survive?

With the second omnibus due out soon, and Zeb Wells creating controversy with every issue, its time to revisit everything that Spencer gave us.
