What can you do as a recruiter during a hiring freeze or slow down?


Cold Outreach To New Candidates:

Do o this for existing verticals and new verticals. Establish new relationships during the slow down as the hiring freeze and slow down will stop at some point and I will have a funnel of new candidates to present to hiring managers.

Contact New Companies:

This hiring freeze and slow down gives you a chance to reach new clients and establish new relationships. This way, when the hiring freeze is over you can have new business.

Work On Process Improvement:

As a recruiter, another of my tips is you always want to improve yourself and hone your skills. Solidify what is already working and analyze your weaknesses to see where you can improve. I promise you, others are doing this and will pass you by if you do not work on yourself during the hiring freeze.

Create Action Plan For After Hiring Freeze:

How will you come out of the gate once the hiring freeze is over? Have a plan to have fully vetted candidates ready for submittal. Have a plan for company outreach, scheduled meetings and lunches. Be ready to cover the job market once the hiring freeze is over. You want to be known as the go to recruiter for your clients and new clients.
