Shot way back in 2015 while I was travelling around Australia this was problem the best of 6 dives I did during that trip. The Great Barrier Reef dives I did were a bit of a let down but this dive did not disappoint!
Apologies for the shaky footage, and some dodgy framing, action cameras have come a long way since the days of the GoPro Hero 3.
The visibility wasn't fantastic but it was good enough and drifting within this group of sharks was a totally surreal experience that I will never forget, they were so chilled and unfazed by our presence. Drifting by and off into the haze of the water. None of this footage is cropped, so you can see we really were almost on top of them at times! The dive was also rounded out with a visit from a loggerhead turtle.
I really hope to dive with more sharks in the future.
