There are three main ways to complete this: The usual way (focus on attacking Death Dealer Ray), using provoke or redirected provoke (to defeat the minions which increase the gauge by 60%), and bringing Schniel (to make use of the special soul weaver buff which greatly increases additional damage and increases combat readiness of the back row ally by 50%)

The main tips:

Take all or some of the special advantages if you can
Exhaust the boss as fast as possible to maximize damage and defense
Make sure that your heroes are quite sturdy
For better chance of survival, bring reliable healer or lifesteal heroes or both
Don't underestimate the enemy
Cleanse your heroes from debuffs as fast as possible and don't rely on buffs and debuffs too much
Bring at least one hero with a non attack skill and make sure that it is available in exhaustion mode to gain exclusive ability

The tips against Death Dealer Ray:

If you have Schniel, bring him for easy and fast completion.
The soul weaver will get special undispellable buff which greatly increases additional damage and increases combat readiness of the back row ally by 50%, so, don't forget to place a soul weaver in the front row to get that buff.
By using his third skill, Death Dealer Ray lands two poisons debuff at each enemy, better dispell it as fast as possible.
After every turn, all heroes will suffer additional damage based on health. So, better bring a good healer, cause lifesteal without vampiric touch debuff will be nulified.
No reasources will be gained, so, it's better to not bring anyone with that, except if you still find him useful.
No counter nor dual attack will be triggered, so don't rely on that. Extra attack can occur, so it's good to bring hero who trigger that.
Minions will heal themselves to max at every turn, so, no need to damage them.
When the minions get overload buff ( dispell all debuffs from single attack and grant extra turn after suffering aoe attack from buffed hero ), land attack that provoke them ( by aoe or passive skill, cause any debuff from single attack will be nulified ). That way. they will destroy themselves when their turns comes, which will increase Death Dealer Ray's gauge by 60%.
In weakened state, soul weaver's third skill will have it's cooldown decreases by 3, which usually making it available (cause normally third skill's cooldown is three).
Use a non attack skill to grant the ally with highest attack a special undispellable buff which increases damage dealt by 100%. The soul weaver's special buff will grant him increase attack greater too. And fortunately, in here, the gauge increase normally, unlike Harsetti.

Besides that, nothing is serious. So, let's try!
