CRT (ortho-K) Overnight Contact Lens Training at Family Vision Care's Myopia Management Academy

Meet Taylor, one of our young patients who we have been taking care of for the past few years. She developed myopia at age 7 and has a family history of high myopia. She and her family chose to manage her myopia with Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT).

In this video Taylor teaches you how easy it is to care for CRT lenses, prepare and put lenses in at night and remove and clean them in the morning. Her lenses gently mold her eyes while she sleeps and, when she removes them in the morning, she sees better than 20/20 all day long without the use of daytime contacts or glasses. She thinks it's amazing.

We think she is amazing! As an athlete she needs to have great peripheral vision and her CRT lenses provide not only great side vision, but slows down her myopia so that her prescription does not increase at the same rate. Myopia over -5.00 diopters can cause some serious eye condition that we'll want to help her avoid. In the meantime she'll continue to wear her lenses every night and she will have regular eye checks to ensure optimal vision for school, play and life!
