Women don’t love narcissists or “bad guys” because they’re cruel they’re drawn to the signals those traits project. Confidence, certainty, emotional self-control, and a sense of purpose are deeply attractive. Narcissistic men often display these traits loudly, even if they’re hollow underneath. In a world full of hesitation and self-doubt, certainty feels like safety, and boldness feels like leadership.

There’s also a psychological pull toward challenge and polarity. “Bad guys” tend to be unpredictable, emotionally unavailable, and not easily impressed which creates tension and intrigue. The human brain confuses emotional intensity with connection. When someone is hard to win over, the reward feels higher, even if the cost is peace. Calm stability is healthy, but chaos is stimulating, and many mistake stimulation for love.
