(1 Nov 1978) Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev awardeed Defence Minister Marshal Dmitri Ustinov the two highest awards in the Soviet Union. The Order of Lenin and the Gold Star Of Hero, for service to the country. The ceremony was also watched by other Politbureau members and high-ranking officers.
