Plastic
It's a problem for our planet
Throw it
And it's never seen again
Unless you're one of them

Becomes one of five trillion
Pieces in our oceans
Plastic toiletries like shampoos
Shower gels and lotions

Produced in tonnes
To the tune of four hundred million
And if I haven't mentioned it yet
Try five jumbo jets
For size

Open your eyes

We're talking stats
And eight million of that
Is in our waters

But whose fault is it
If nobody's taught us

That a carrier bag
And a coffee cup
Buckets and ear buds
Will end up in a dolphin pup?

And all because of us

We're disguising jelly fish
Lining stomach's with plastic
Because whilst we are binning it
They're consuming it

I need to keep going
Because we are the enemy

2050
Please, don't dismiss this
Because the amount of plastic in our oceans in years from now...
Will weigh more than the fish

Sea birds
Nine out of ten
Sea turtles
One in three
100, 000
Killed in the sea

We're ceating trash islands
Garbage patches
California to Hawaii
Creating a plastic ocean world
In our seas

Right here

And 450 years to disappear?

Then theres you
And there's me
And there's them
In the sea

A paper bag
A paper bud
A cardboard carton of milk
That you drink with that paper straw
Whilst you eat your tea with a proper knife and fork

Just a snapshot
But think...

About our ocean
Our beautiful seas
Two thirds of the world we live in

Then there's you
And there's me
And there's them in the sea

Spare a thought
Pass on plastic
